So happy with how this track turned out. It took some work in sections, but mostly it all flowed smoothly.

When I first went into the studio, the initial recording sounded so different. The transition between the bridge and chorus just wasn't working, so through sheer perseverance of trial and error, I eventually stumbled across the chords that would do the job nicely. But then the chorus didn't sound quite right, so I changed that on the fly also. You pull a thread here and there and before you know it, the whole thing has been reworked.

Most of the synth sounds are from my Roland MC707, however, I also ransacked an older demo for some appropriate ear candy; The muted rhythmic guitar riff in the chorus for example.

The song is about a relationship coming to an end when there's still respect and love. What once seemed like a forever thing, no longer is. But it's okay. We're only human after all. Sometimes we grow in different directions.
It's about envisioning a new life. What comes after. One chapter ends and another begins.
